Carlo Monopoli
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Carlo Monopoli was born in Bari in 1970 and inherits talent and good taste from his family. His grandmother, who expressed her inclination in the filet and in the embroidery, his father, amateur painter of good level, his mother, whimsical impassioned of art, have always sustained and pushed him in what the prevailing interest of his life would be become: art, conceived as sum of so many disciplines and as personal perception of absolute beauty. When he was a little child he began to throw lines and to mix colors with the uncertain hand and at six he won his first contest of painting. The result was the frequency of the artistic high school, which allowed him, on one side, to acquire the basic technical competence and from the other, to refine his evident and natural cultural sensibility.
Nevertheless he didn’t absorb, slavishly, what the school offered him, but, industriously he elaborated again everything in a personal key, experimenting, experimenting and still experimenting, every technique, every method, every style, acquiring them to then return them with naturalness and mastery. In this way he conquered much experience – introductory to every future walk – so that he could become a capital, eclectic, complete artist, who enriched his culture, his knowledge, his sensibility, his feelings and his delicacy. He attended the University – Faculty of Architecture and not the Academy of Art, because he perceives the “Architecture” to the same way as Vitruvio (30 B.C.) who defined it: “the science with which all the jobs are regulated, that they do in every art”, and Le Corbusier (1923): “the wise, rigorous and magnificent game of the volumes in the light.” This is his rigorous curriculum studiorum, the tilled ground on which to found the seeding of the field experiences, which came true thanks to some years of collaboration with the most important Italian advertising agencies, as illustrator, and in the share, with appreciable successes, to the most famous and accredited national prizes of painting.
Now he collaborates, as planner and artistic manager, with an international company, specialized in the realization of “coolness paintings” and “tears of fresco.” He acquired cosmopolitan notoriety and his refined mural works are exhibited in churches, public buildings and prestigious private residences, in Jordan, Lebanon, Cekia, Arabic Emirates, Kuwait, Germany and Russia. Carlo Monopoli is, therefore, an artist who has treasured his attitudes and his sensibility, understanding the importance of a binding path of studies, fortified by many years of work experiences in many fields: for this reason, today, he succeeds to conceive everlasting works.
